Yardbox in the Sunday Times, and how we are changing the back garden golf game.
A few weeks ago, our co-founders, Cormac and Ciaran, sat down with The Sunday Times Ireland to discuss the growing demand for high-end garden rooms. This past weekend, we were thrilled to see the article published, showcasing how our premium outdoor spaces are transforming homes—whether it’s for a cutting-edge golf simulator, a stylish home office, or a versatile living area.
A huge thank you to The Sunday Times for the feature and, most importantly, to our incredible customers for trusting us to bring their ideas to life! You can check out some highlights from the article below.
More Than Just a Golf Simulator
This article got us thinking—our golf simulators aren’t just for improving your game; they can also be a smart investment. By renting out your simulator on an hourly basis, you can turn it into a revenue-generating asset, making it a win-win for golf enthusiasts and business-minded individuals alike.
Twenty years ago, GAA clubs rarely had dedicated gyms for strength and conditioning. Today, around 95% of clubs have one. Golf simulators are following a similar trajectory—if you’re not honing your skills off the course, you risk being left behind.
With demand for indoor golf access growing rapidly, now is the perfect time to get ahead of the curve. If you’re considering a golf simulator for personal use or as an investment, we’d love to chat.
Try Our Simulator for Yourself
We’ve also launched rentals for our own state-of-the-art simulator—so whether you’re looking to perfect your swing or see what all the buzz is about, you can book a session today.
Yardbox in the Sunday Times Highlights
Imagine being able to fit in a game of golf on your lunch break or on a dark evening in winter, and in rain, hail or sunshine. Sure, moving to the Algarve might increase your opportunities to sneak in a round, but that is probably not practical for most. Some Irish golfers are instead choosing to bring the course to them, investing in state-of-the-art golf simulator rooms in their back gardens. The price tag? Expect a starting price of €45,000, says Cormac Carville of Yardbox.
He runs the business with his father and brother. They specialise in garden rooms, but have noticed a rising demand for golf simulator rooms.
“As a father of four young children it has been a game-changer,” Carville says. “It allows me to play a full 18 holes during a lunch break, without sacrificing precious family time.
“The demand for home golf simulators has grown exponentially. Our journey into this niche began four years ago with a golf pro in Dublin who wanted a dedicated indoor space to refine his game. Since then we’ve worked with a wide array of clients, from private home owners to golf clubs.
“One standout project involved designing a luxurious, multifunctional simulator space for a private client in Tipperary. They wanted more than just a golf room, so we delivered a sleek, modern garden room equipped with custom lighting, soundproofing, air-conditioning, an en suite, a home bar, a pool table and a premium Trackman set-up.”
The convenience of a golf range on your doorstep does not come cheap and the starting price is likely to increase based on factors such as room size, materials and additional features. As well as unmatched convenience, it offers the chance to bio-hack your way to improved performance, with systems that analyse your technique.
